Spring is a time to put away the cozy winter accessories and brighten up our homes. Here are some inexpensive ideas to get a fresh spring look:
#1- Create throw pillow covers in bright spring colors. Purchase a couple of coordinating flat sheets at a spring whites sale and make several pillow covers to liven up your couches and beds.
#2- Accent your rooms with some greenery. How about a string of ivy along a shelf? A flower garland might look nice draped over a window treatment. You can purchase some inexpensive garland at your
Recycled Toilet Paper… Simple Green Shopping
by TK March 24th, 2008 | Green Shopping
There are a great number of amazing statistics out there that talk about how simple changes in your shopping can make massive changes in the utilization of the Earth's natural resources.
Recently I ran across one that I found both comical and eye-opening:
If every American household replaced one roll of 500-sheet virgin toilet paper with one 500-sheet roll of 100% recycled toilet paper just once per year, 424,000 trees would remain standing. That is 16 times as many trees that are in all of Central Park in New York City.
So the next time you need a new roll of TP,

All of us have had that horrific thrift store experience- the one where you venture into an "independent" thrift store and realize that the reason it smells so badly is because the store doesn't clean the clothes before they get put onto the racks.

Shopping in Santa Cruz, California
by Michele March 6th, 2008 | Travel Shopping
Recently, I joined my boyfriend on a business trip and had my own mini-vacation. While he was at the office working, I had time to spend exploring the Bay Area. On one of those "free" days, I had plans to meet an aunt for lunch, so I only had a few hours on my own. As I was meeting her at a restaurant in Santa Cruz, I decided to check out its downtown.
Santa Cruz's downtown was beautiful. With a wide assortment of unique shops and boutiques, there was plenty of shopping to be had.
