The winter season is always my favorite excuse for investing in some new evening wear. The weather is usually cold and depressing, so dressing up is a great way to give myself a bit of a pick me up. I will have a lot of events to show off my new outfits, and here are a few of the dresses I’ve been eying this season. What are your favorites?
Berry Satin Dress – This beautiful and sleek dress from next is holiday themed and figure flattering. With it’s slightly flared skirt, you don’t have to worry about bringing on the s snacks and being comfortable. You can also pair it with an elegant sweater or jacket to go straight from the office to a party. The v-neck line is a bit sultry, while still being tasteful.
Old Navy Women’s Scoop Neck Sweater Dress – This is a great dress to wow them at your New Year’s Eve bash or well into the new year. Pair it with a jacket and you can even get away with it at the work place. The best part about this dress is that it is comfortable, but also super flattering. I love the red for the holidays, but you can also pick it up in other shades.
Kohl’s Lauren Conrad Fit and Flare Organza Dress – This cute little black dress is a great outfit to start the new year in. It is form fitting, but still has a lot of movement. The belted waist also flatters many figures. While this is not a piece you can add to your office wear, it is a cute little black dress that will make a great outfit for other parties throughout the year.
MADE – Fashion Week for Impulse in Metallic Blue – I love this adorable dress in a shimmery shade of blue that will really make you shine on New Year’s Eve. This dress has a cute A-line that will flatter your figure, and for more emphasis you can always tie a black scarf or belt around your waist. The skirt is on the shorter side, so check lengths if you are taller.
DJ Jazz One-Shoulder High Low Dress – This adorable magenta dress is a steal right now at JC Penny. This number is for your more wild New Year’s Eve party because you will want to dance the night away once you have it on. The hem of the dress is high/low, as described, which means it is shorter in the front, but it hangs past the knees in the back. Overall it is a cute number you can wear to other formal occasions.
