Looking for new pieces to mix into your work wardrobe? Take a look inside your closet. There is no need to buy brand new pieces, especially when you already have wearable clothes that will work with your individual suit pieces.

Sometimes, the most basic pieces in the most classic colors work best. Every few months, you can shake up your look a little with a few extra essentials in order to maximize your look to full effect.

1- Pair Simple Tee Shirts with Fitted Cardigan

A fitted cardigan sweater is the ultimate alternative to the classic blazer. It’s a great to wear over your favorite tee shirts, print blouses, or camisoles. You can also wear it over pretty printed dresses. Button it partially or button it all the way, as you really can’t go wrong with a simple sweater like this.  Stock up on several different styles and colors including red, white, black, brown, grey, or navy.

2- Simple Dress Pants

Most offices don’t allow denim, but that doesn’t mean that you’re completely limited to suit pants. If you’ve got at least one pair of nice dress pants in black or navy, you’re ready for just about anything. Keep the entire look simple by choosing a button down blouse, crisp pull-over sweater, printed blouse, and more.

3- Pencil Skirts

The pencil skirt is a classic that you can’t go wrong wearing. It’s a pretty style that looks good with almost everything, including oxford blouses, fitted jackets, shell-style tops, blouson-style blouses, and more.  Once again, you want to choose pencil shirts in all the basic colors like black, grey, or navy.

4- Mary Jane Heels

Mary-Janes are the type of shoe that looks as great in the office as outside the office. These shoes look sleek and chic with just about everything including pantsuits, skirt suits, and separates.
