Cold Shoulder Tops

cold shoulder top (400x400)

Cold shoulder tops are my new favorite obsession.  They are gorgeous and comfy.  Light, flowy material is perfect for the summer, and the off the shoulder look is great, as well.  They work well with absolutely everything.  The spaghetti straps keep it from being almost strapless with awkward arms attached.  The sleeves keep you a bit warmer, but the open shoulders cool you down, as the name suggests.  The light flowy material of them will also keep you cool in the summer.  Since it isn’t fitted you will be cooler than in a basic tank top.

I love these tops with your typical pair of jean shorts.  Match it with a pair of short light wash jean shorts with the perfect amount of ripping to them; you are automatically concert ready.  Add on a couple flash tats and a head chain and you can walk right out the door.  Of course, you don’t have to stop there.  They look great with a pair of khakis or work pants for your summer office job.  Plus the long sleeves with the long pants will keep you warmer in the chilly full blast air conditioning, I am always cold at work.  But, these great shirts also work as a cover up.  Bring them to the beach with you and throw them on over your bathing suit when you want to go down the boardwalk.  Plus, you can’t get service without one on, no shoes, no shirt, no service!

My favorite look is one that can switch throughout the day.  Start your day off at work with a pair of nice black pants and flats.  Come home and relax for a bit in jean shorts and flip flops.  Then head out at night with your friends in the same light wash ripped jean shorts, but switch the flip flops out for ankle boots or cowgirl boots depending on your preference.  If you like add on some long layering chains, and head/hair chain, or a few flash tats.  I love stackable rings, as well.

My favorite top is from Charlotte Russe, but they are available at many stores.  They are typically around $20-25 at Charlotte, but they are constantly having deals and sales so you hardly ever pay full price.  Coupons and discounts can also be found online.  Macy’s has several cute tops, as well. They can be found from $25-60.  This may seem a tad expensive, but Macy’s is constantly having sales and promos, as well.  You can also find them through Venus online for a bit more.
