teen girls (400x400)Those of you that have knowledge in the artist or computer world will know that arbitrary colors are colors that usually would not be paired together.  Think of them as complimentary colors that have been altered a few shades.  They are also referred to as handpicked colors, so something like red and green that go well together would be changed to pink and yellow, or pink and army green, or if you’re feeling daring pink, yellow, and army green.  I know that you are wondering how on earth can that many colors go well together.  Shockingly, quite well.  In fact, I’m wearing those three colors at the moment.  The trick is to start with a neutral base color like black.  Then layer on the colors.  Black leggings are an easy place to start, then layer on an army green shirt.  On top of this, I layered a boyfriend fit flannel from American Eagle.  The base colors in it are pink, yellow, white, and black so it creates all different shades of pinks, purple, and yellows.  The trick to arbitrary colors is layering them by starting with a neutral base.
