How to Wear Bright Shoes

shoeSummer is the season of bright hues and fun colors. It’s no surprise that women want to brighten up their entire look, even their shoes. It’s important to point out that brightening up your footwear is unlike clothes or handbags, as it includes a new set of style rules. Colored footwear is meant to add fun and style to your look. Here are some style rules to guide you through the shopping process.

1- Stick to One Color

Overwhelming yourself with too much color is a huge style mistake. Keep it simple. This summer, try a fresh hue like sunny yellow or deep turquoise. Choose a pair of flats, open toe pumps, or sandals. These shoes will look cool with both crisp whites and summer neutrals. If you really want the colors to pop, you could pair these shoes with black or navy blue. Keep the rest of the style simple with minimal accessories in cool shades.

2- Consider Fun Prints

A fun way to get more vibrant color in your wardrobe is by adding fun prints. Try wearing flirty animal print heels in either zebra or leopard print. You could also try snakeskin or alligator prints. Other options include graphic prints, florals, stripes, or polka dots. Pair these shoes with solids in either dark shades, muted colors, or similar hues. If your shoes feature green in the print, try pairing them with clothes that have the same hue. Try pairing green striped shoes with a green dress or tee.

3- Skip Legwear

Skip the leggings and tights if you’re going to wear bright shoes. Keep your look simply cool by letting the brightly colored shoes speak for themselves. With that said, it’s best to wear these kinds of shoes with short to medium-length black skirts, dark skinny jeans, or pinstripe pants. Elevate your look with vibrant prints in black and white. This will give your style interesting flare while keeping the whole look simple enough for everyday. This style option will also work for casual office settings. If you’re wearing bright shoes to the office, make sure you choose a pair that’s in a more tame color like red or coral.
