One of the most important fashion items for fall is the jacket. This versatile garment will not only keep you warm when the temperatures drop, they also offer endless styling options when worn with various looks, especially when you’re in the office.

For instance, a basic black blazer can look office-appropriate when worn with a beautiful floral blouse and classic wool pants, or it can look more creative casual when worn with a white tee shirt and dark straight leg denim. How you wear the item is up to you, but here are a few jackets you’ll want to consider buying before the calendar says September 21.

1- Classic Button-down Cardigans

Okay, so cardigans are not technically jackets, but they make a stylish alternative. Since they’re relatively affordable, you can purchase several cardigans in different styles and colors.  Try to steer clear from the trendy pieces, and opt for classic styles in pretty colors like white, cream, or rose.

2- Blazer

As previously mentioned, a blazer can be as serious or casual as you want it to be. If you don’t already have a few already hanging in your closet, consider purchasing one or two in colors like basic black, navy blue, or white. If you really love blazers, you might want to purchase an extra style in a fun color like  regal red or brown. You can wear your blazer with a classic shift dress and a wide belt that cinches the waist or over a structured jumpsuit.

3- Cropped Blazer

More trendy than traditional, a cropped blazer could instantly spice up your ordinary look.  Choose a cute cropped style in a fun color like red or dark blue. Pair your jacket with a basic button down top and medium-waisted pants.  You could also throw it over your favorite summer dresses or structured jumpsuits. If you love to rock your sense of style just a little bit, a cropped blazer is one way you can do that.
