coatColder temperatures mean warm weather essentials like jackets and coats. That doesn’t mean you have to stick to boring over-sized parkas and bulky shapeless jackets. This season brings us a lot of exciting trends like military jackets, denim jackets, leopard print coats, faux leather jackets, and more. If you haven’t already purchased a new jacket or coat for the season, be sure to check out this amazing trend list for stylish ideas.

1- Military Chic

You don’t have to be in the military to rock this haute trend! Utilitarian-style jackets in olive green or brown are just the thing for right now. These jackets were made for tees and denim as well as sundresses, utilitarian rompers, and lots of casual looks. This jacket was made for casual styles but it can be worn with dressier looks. Try wearing a structured military blazer over a classic button down shirt and black dress pants. Complete the look with a pair of black platform heels and a small leather handbag. If you really want to go for an edgier look, opt for a military jacket with studded detailing.

Styles you’ll love: Studded Canvas Long-Sleeve Blazer, $36.99 at Charlotte Russe and Princess Vera Wang Camoflauge Jacket, $23.20 at Kohl’s.

2- Edgy Leather

The leather jacket is fall staple. You will wear this all season long with a variety of outfits including feminine maxi dresses, skinny jeans, dressy blouses, crisp sweaters, and more. If you really want to stand out this season, skip the black leather and opt for something different like white leather or red leather. It adds flare and a bit of color to just about any look. One thing to keep in mind is that you cannot wear colored leather with everything like you can with black or brown leather.

Styles you’ll love: a.n.a Faux-Leather Motorcycle Jacket, $59.99 at JCPenney and INC International Concepts Faux Leather Quilted Chain-Link Jacket, $99.99 at Macy’s.

3- Glam Leopard

A little leopard, a lot of glamour! A chic leopard-print coat will keep you stylish day and night. You can wear it to the office, to the mall, or to dinner. A trendy leopard coat in a classic cut will look amazing with just about everything you already own.

Styles you’ll love: BB Dakota Leopard Print Coat, $148.00 at Nordstrom and Women’s Plus Size Hooded Jacket, $49.99 at Target
