There are a great number of amazing statistics out there that talk about how simple changes in your shopping can make massive changes in the utilization of the Earth’s natural resources.

Recently I ran across one that I found both comical and eye-opening:

If every American household replaced one roll of 500-sheet virgin toilet paper with one 500-sheet roll of 100% recycled toilet paper just once per year, 424,000 trees would remain standing. That is 16 times as many trees that are in all of Central Park in New York City.

So the next time you need a new roll of TP, think green and think recycled paper!
