french braid (400x400)I said it before and I’ll say it again, hitting the snooze button is far too tempting on early school mornings.  On days you are running late and don’t have time to straighten, curl, or even wash your hair, put it up!  Last time I went over ponytails and messy buns, but my absolute go it is a French braid.  Technically, I do Dutch braids, but there is really no difference.

French braids are great when your hair is a bit greasy.  The twisting of the hair instead of pulling it straight back helps to hide the grease while still looking cute.  You can take this hairdo from sporty to chic with simply changing your outfit.  French braiding is as simple as a regular braid, except every time the pieces switch spots the outside two chunks of hair will get more hair in them.  I start at the top of my head and work my way down my head and continue it into a braid going down my back.  If you braid in you are doing a French braid and if you braid out you are doing a Dutch braid.  If the concept is too complicated for you there are thousands of tutorials on YouTube.
