The style choices you make whenever you pack can either make or break your vacation. While you cannot predict things like the weather or spontaneous adventures you may have, you can make some educated guesses to pack wisely for your trip.

1- Pack light cotton essentials

Your vacation should be a carefree experience, so you shouldn’t have to worry about what to wear or whether or not something could get wrinkled. Keep your vacation wardrobe simple by packing tees, tanks, denim, and shorts. Steer clear from  clothes made from delicate materials or with excessive details like beading or sequins.

2- Bring at least one special dress or outfit

No matter how casual your vacation may be, you should bring at least one cocktail dress or elegant blouse and skirt set just in case. If you have extra room, you should also bring a pair of dress pumps and a clutch.

3- Pack a collapsible tote

Whether you’re just lounging beachside or browsing trendy boutiques in a city, you really should bring  a tote with you.  A simple canvas bag is the perfect thing to lug all your smaller essential items like a wallet, sunglasses, bottle of sunscreen, and magazines. When you pick a tote bag, make sure that it’s collapsible and that it fits into your suitcase or a larger bag.

4- Add several swimsuits and a coordinating cover-up

If the locale you’re heading to has a beach and/or a pool, no doubt you’ll want to pack a swimsuit or two. If you plan on spending a lot time in the water, you might want to pack an extra swimsuit (and cover-up) because nobody likes a wet swimsuit.

5- Choose footwear wisely

Comfy shoes are good for every day wear and comfort, but they are mandatory for vacations. Pack a pair of flip-flops for the beach, a pair of tennis shoes for the court, and espadrilles for a day of sightseeing.
