Most of us hate to be cooped up in the office during the summer. Nobody likes having to work late hours when they could go out and have a little fun in the sun, but you shouldn’t let that deter your sense of style. Need fresh ideas or extra inspiration? Here are some fabulous ideas to consider now.

1- Wear a Sundress with a Light Cardigan or Jacket

Found the perfect sundress or maxi dress but don’t know where to wear it? Throw on a light cardigan or jacket, and wear it to the office! Sundresses are usually casual, and unless you work in a place with a super strict dress code, a simple summer dress can become a summer office staple. Just remember one simple rule before putting the dress on: don’t wear something with a skirt that’s above the knee.

2- Trade Your Dress Pants for a Pair of Capris or Bermuda Shorts

Warm up your wardrobe with a few office-appropriate pairs of capri pants or bermuda shorts. Keep your style simple by purchasing pants in warm shades like khaki, white, brown, or ecru. Pair these pants with classic button down blouses, sleeveless knit shells, and short-sleeve v-neck sweaters.

3- Trade Pumps for Flats

Now that the weather is slowly starting to heat up, you may find yourself spending extra time outdoors on your break, so ditch your heels in favor of a cozy pair of flats. You can wear anything from basic round-toe ballet style flats to crisp espadrilles. Spoil yourself with fabulous shoes including basic shoes in black, dark gray, or brown and another pair a cooler color like red or dark blue.

4- Accessorize Accordingly

Complete any look with the right accessories! Think statement necklaces with v-neck blouses or dresses or pearl drop earrings with shirtdresses or basic tops. Keep everything on the simple side of with minimal jewelry and accessories.
