swimsuit (400x400)While you probably wish you look as great as Kate Upton in a swimsuit, when it’s time to hit the beach, you’ll want your swimsuit to bring out the best in your figure and camouflage any flaws. Swimsuit styles trending in 2014 include halter and bustier necklines; crochet, mesh, macramé and neoprene fabrics; and neon, nautical-look and bold prints. Here’s a look at what’s trending in 2014 and some fashion tips for making your swimwear look sensational on YOU:

Beautiful, crocheted swimsuits are in style this year. Here’s a sexy crochet overlay bandeau bikini with a crochet trim bottom in three colors: aqua, white and black.

Tip: Give yourself time to shop and try on styles you might not ordinarily consider. You never know — sometimes a style will work better than you think.

Halter tops are wildly popular this season. Here’s a sexy halter top bikini with scalloped edges, light padding and it comes in a dozen colors.

Who says a one-piece suit has to be dull? This very sexy mesh cut-out one-piece in black will make you look glamorous.

Tip: Try on a size that’s at least one size larger than you what you think you wear. When your swimsuit is too tight, the edges will tend to cut into any excess flesh and make bulges.

Super sport neoprene plays a leading role this summer and this in white and black will put you front and center.

Neon is sizzling this summer! Here’s a neon tie-front bandeau tank in four vivid colors: mango, papaya, pink and yellow.

Color Blocking
Given this season’s emphasis on the bold and beautiful, is it any wonder that color blocking is hot? Here’s a strapless bandeau colorblock maillot in lipstick, white and onyx.

Tip: Look for Lycra because Lycra holds you in.

Big bold prints are in style this season, so you’ll fit right in with this 96 Degrees Medallion print bandeau swim top with hipster bottoms in blue.

Tip: Darker colors and tones close to your skin color make your figure appear smaller.

The retro, sporty sailor look is strong this summer and this sailor-stripe lace-up tank in spearmint and black will flatter your figure and its little lace-up ties will accentuate your neckline.

Tip: High cut leg styles make your legs look longer while skirted suits and boy legs make your legs look shorter.

Macramé is trending this season, so this Apt. 9® macramé one-piece swimsuit in black will make you look ultra-chic with its macramé back.

Bustier bikinis are in the spotlight, and Jessica Simpson’s tribal-print bustier bikini will ensure you stand out on the beach.
